Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy will help you to identify and understand the psychological and relational factors contributing to sexual issues.

Is Psychosexual Therapy for Me?

It’s natural for our experiences of sex and intimacy to change over time. Desire can ebb and flow, relationships can go through different phases, and sometimes physical or emotional challenges can get in the way. You may be feeling stuck, worried, or unsure about how to move forward — and this is where psychosexual therapy can help.

You might find it helpful if you’ve ever thought things like:

“My desire just isn’t what it used to be.”
“I want to enjoy sex, but I find it hard to get aroused or stay aroused.”
“Sex has become uncomfortable, painful, or not very satisfying.”
“My partner and I seem to want different things, and it’s causing tension.”
“I feel anxious, pressured, or even ashamed when it comes to intimacy.”
“Past experiences or health issues have changed the way I feel about sex.”
“I’m not sure how to talk about what I need or want.”
“I’m questioning my sexuality or who I really am.”

In psychosexual therapy, I use the biopsychosocial model, which means looking at how your biology, psychology, and relationships all play a role in your sexual wellbeing. Sometimes sexual difficulties can be linked to health conditions, medications, or hormonal changes. If it seems relevant, I may encourage you to check in with your GP so we can be sure any physical causes are being addressed alongside our work together.

If any of this feels familiar, psychosexual therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore your concerns, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with what feels right for you.
